Joystick Configuration Planner
Plan a practical operator-control layout for your industrial wireless remote. Map joystick directions to machine movements, add buttons and auxiliary controls, and prepare a clear configuration brief for Nomi's engineering team.
BUILD YOUR CONTROL PLAN
Describe how the operator should control the machine
Fill in what you know. Use “Not sure” or leave optional fields blank when the design has not been finalized.

Control map preview
This is a functional planning summary, not a mechanical drawing or final wiring diagram.
The final transmitter layout, joystick mechanism, labeling, output type, receiver configuration and safety behavior are subject to technical review. The correct design depends on the machine's control architecture, required movements, simultaneous-operation logic, power supply, wiring and applicable requirements.
HOW THE PLANNER WORKS
From joystick movements to a buildable control specification
List the machine movements
Describe the action needed for each joystick direction instead of using only generic labels such as “Axis 1” or “Channel 2.”
Choose auxiliary controls
List button, switch, metal-lever, rotary-knob and other functions that the operator needs to access.
Identify the receiver interface
Provide the available valve, controller, voltage, output and wiring details where possible. Unknown information can be reviewed by engineering.
Review the design with Nomi
Nomi's in-house R&D team can evaluate standard and custom layouts for the specific machine and project constraints.

CONFIGURATION FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How many joysticks should an industrial wireless remote have?
It depends on the number and type of movements, whether functions must work simultaneously, the operator interface, and the available receiver outputs. Start by mapping each required movement, then ask engineering to confirm the joystick and output count.
Does one joystick always control two machine functions?
No. A joystick may provide one, two or other supported input axes depending on its design. The receiver and machine controller must also support the required signals and logic. Map every direction to an intended machine action and verify the design before ordering.
Can buttons, metal levers and rotary knobs be combined with joysticks?
A hybrid transmitter layout may combine joysticks with auxiliary buttons, toggle switches or metal levers, rotary controls and other interface features. The practical arrangement depends on enclosure space, the required functions and the selected electronics.
Can Nomi customize the joystick layout for a special machine?
Yes. Nomi has an in-house R&D team and can review custom control layouts for a wide range of machine types. Feasibility and the final design are confirmed against the machine's control interface and project requirements.
Does this planner confirm compatibility or safety compliance?
No. It prepares a functional brief only. Compatibility, electrical and hydraulic interfaces, radio requirements, emergency-stop integration and signal-loss behavior need a separate technical review and appropriate validation.
